I can create a range of fully bespoke items on a commission basis. Some examples are below.
Soft Furnishings
I can make a variety of different styles of soft furnishings including scatter and window seat cushions. You would be welcome to choose the detailing to fit your bespoke requirements.
Edging details such as piping, flouncing or other decorative trimmings can elevate a simple cushion design to a statement piece.
Fastenings can either be hidden as with an invisible zip insert, or used as a decorative feature such as buttoned or tied envelope designs.
Fillings can be anything from fibre wrapped foam, to full feather or down, or a combination. Foam in cushion fillers offers great support and shape resilience but can look rather flat if not encased in a softer wrap. Feather and down cushions have much more character and softness as they shape to the body but do have to be plumped back into shape regularly. Using a foam core wrapped in feather & down provides a good compromise.
I am also happy to take on commissions for other soft furnishings including curtains, bed draperies, door stops and lampshades.
Headboards
An upholstered headboard serves a very practical purpose in a bedroom, not only preventing pillows from falling behind the bed, but also cushioning the back and head when sitting up in bed.
The aesthetic purpose is a bonus – elaborate shapes and beautiful fabrics can fill the wall space like an art work, transforming a bedroom with a richer and cosier feel.
Headboards can be either plain or buttoned, and with either matching or contrast piping.
Mounting can either be to the wall or to the bed depending on size and usage.
Ottomans & Footstools
Perfect for use as a coffee table, a footrest, an extra seat, or useful storage in the case of a box ottoman.
Designs can be either plain or buttoned, with either matching or contrast piping, and a variety of leg colours and styles.
